Halloween Party

Today we had Luke's Halloween party. I missed the trick-or-treating b/c I ran some errands. Bad Mommy! The party was later in the afternoon.
Here we have pin the smile on the pumpkin.

Then it was cupcake time. This is one of Luke's friends, Courtney. This is our third year to have Courtney in our class. Luke LOVES Courtney.

Here's our Luke's class. Titus is sneaking a bite from Princess Zoey who was happy to share.

Carnivals

We had two halloween carnivals last weekend. The first was at our neighborhood and the second was a few hours later at the church. Here are some pictures of our little SpiderLuke and little dinosaur Titus.
On the way to the nieghborhood carnival:
Notice the spiderpumpkin too!

Here's the church carnival:
One of our best friends, Hobson AKA Dash from the Incredibles

Is that my compound eye or are there multiple spidies out there?

Titus was too little for most of the games, so he got some daddy bonding time.

Snack time! We have some seriously talented cookie making church ladies at GOCofC !

I hope the Spiderman coustume holds up b/c it is getting worn daily as he plays around the house! Luke really enjoys dressing up.

Scolded

Cara scolded me for leaving this picture off of the picnic blog entry. This is mom playing bingo. Why is she semi-hiding under the table while she's playing? She's playing the 12 and under kid bingo.

Bingo adict?

Titus 12 mo. pictures

Titus and I went to get his 12 mo. pictures a couple of weeks ago. It was just us. We went while Luke was in pre-school. We took pictures and had lunch. It was great mommy and me time. Here are a few of our favorites from the photo shoot.

Playdates!

I love to have playdates :) Here is a quick picture of our playdate with my high school friend Giselle. We meet probably once a month or 6 weeks at Chick fil A for a late breakfast. Luke and Molly play. Titus and Sam reach out and try to mess with each other. It is fun.
There is absolutely nothing like getting to spend some time with an old friend! Just don't remind me of how strange I was in junior high and high school. I'm really trying to forget all of that. Haha
I love you Molly! Ketchup and all...maybe I could get a kiss?
Titus and Sam-We had to watch it b/c Titus was trying to share his chicken minis with Sam. No No Titus! Sam is still too little :)
Giselle and Sam- That's right ladies. He is available! What a cutie.

My big helper!

Luke is able to help with so many things. He set the table! He brought all the plates, silver ware and glases to the table. He set them out just as they are and even filled up the water cups (only about half full LOL) He even picked and washed the tomatoes before adding them to the salad. Where have you been all my life???

I'm a super helper!

I'm super messy!

Weekend with Grammy and Papa

I took the boys this weekend to Longview to see Grammy and Papa (my mom and dad). It was my first time to be back to Longview in years. It was really neat to see all the people from the church I grew up in. I got to go to the church Micah and I were married in too. It was really wierd to see kids I remember as babies that are now in high school.

Aunt Cara, Luke and Grammy in the swing

The main purpose of the trip was to take the boys to my Dad's company picnic. It was at a park that I used to go to as a kid. There are pieces of equipment that are well over 30 years old. They have some of the most unique pieces of park equipment I've ever seen. It's probably because the equipment is well over 30 years old-before equipment had to be so super-safe. There are some really fun things. This one is my favorite. We call it the T-swing. If someone will pivot the swings, you can really start to "fly like super man" as Luke said.

Ummm yeah...that slide is probably too tall. It has side rails :) Did I mention that Luke LOVED it and went down it a million times.

Do they even make merry go rounds any more?

The bounce houses- Yes Papa did get in them with the boys :)

Titus was really enjoying all the bouncing. After all than fun, he napped in the stroller for much of the day.

Whee!

Titus did not like the face painting. We only got an outline of a balloon before he gave up.

Yum! Luke ate so much junk and loved it. I remember doing the same thing at the picnic when I was a kid.

The abominable bubbleman

We had a great time!

Yeh Yeh and Luke at the Texas State Fair

Randy came into Dallas last week for work and he stayed with us.
Luke getting hugs after Yeh Yeh read him a few bible stories.
Luke, Micah, Randy and Titus in front of the Ferris wheel at the Texas state fair.
I guess grandparents are to spoil their grandkids. Enjoy your icecream Luke. It was great icecream, but we're not yet to the highlight of the night.
Getting closer, but this is not the highlight of the night either.

This was the highlight of the night! Luke LOVED getting into the cars at the car show. He would get in and pretend to adjust the mirror and radio. Then he would ask Randy to "Climb Aboard!" Randy would get in and ask him where they were going, and there was only one answer to that question-the toy store! I stopped counting after Luke had gotten into car #30 or so. He was in little boy heaven.

We stayed out way past the boy's bedtimes, but I guess that's o.k. once in a while :) Here are Micah and Randy with both boys as we were getting ready to go back home. Can you tell that they are a little tired?

We had a great time Randy! You're welcome anytime :)

Our vacation!

Micah and I got to get away for a few days! My mom and dad watched the boys with some help from Aunt Cara. We went on a 5 day cruise to Mexico. This was our boat, the Carnival Ecstasy.

We enjoyed the boat. We enjoyed relaxing in the sun.
Those are MICAH'S legs :)

At night we would go play Sudoku at the library, eat a little sushi from the sushi bar, and then go to dinner.
Our first port was Progresso, Mexico. It was a smaller town. We shopped, ate, and got massages on the beach.
Shopping in Progresso.

This was my highlight of the trip. Micah and I got a couple's massage on the beach. There was a mariachi playing in the background. One note: Massage oil removes sunscreen! Micah got really burned!
Checking e-mail at an Internet cafe.

It was fun to watch the Mexican children play video games together.

What a fun day! It's time to get back on the boat.

Our other port was Cozumel, Mexico.

We rented a scooter and drove it around the island. There is only one road that goes around the island, so we got to see all the beaches. It takes about 2 hours to ride around the island without stops. It was beautiful. At one point we saw a pretty big crab scurry across the road.

We would stop at little places along the road. This was a beach club where
we stopped to get a coke. Here we stopped on the side of the road for "Cold Coconuts". Micah and I shared one. They cut the top off the coconut and we drank the milk, then they cut it open and we ate the coconut. They also had a place where you could go up on a hill and pick coconuts.
After we returned the scooter, we walked around the town. There was lots of shopping and plenty of things to see. Please do not poop on my head!!!
Micah had gone into full vacation mode at this point. He's got a Cuban cigar, a large lizard (wearing a camo diaper) a cowboy hat and a wife who is laughing her head off! He needed a break. It's nice to see him like this instead of heading off to work for a change.

The sun sets on a wonderful vacation! We were really ready to see the boys again by the time the trip was over.
