Can you jump on one foot?

We were at the doctor for Luke's (late) 3 year check up today. The doctor looked in his eyes, throat, checked reflexes, etc. Then, he set Luke on the ground and asked him to jump up and down. Luke did so happily. Then, he asked Luke to jump on one foot. Luke said "Sure!" and ran up to the doctor and jumped on his foot.

Hahahahahahahahaha. Seriously, I laughed the whole way home. The doctor said he'd never had a kid do that and that he was happy to have a funny story to tell the office. I'm pretty sure Luke hurt his foot. He jumped on it pretty hard. Oh well, that's what you asked him to do...

Party Animal

I'm one! Let's party...

Today we had Titus's birthday party. It started at 5 pm and his normal bedtime is 6 pm. He's so tired by the end of the party. We had friends and family come to celebrate our little guy's wonderful first year.

Here's Titus's little cake that he would soon demolish.

Everyone is ready for the pizza to arrive and for the party to start.

Happy Birthday to You, Happy Birthday to You, Happy Birthday Dear Titus, Happy Birthday to You!

At first he just made funny faces, dipped his finger in the icing and wiped it on the high chair's tray.

Oh, I get it! This stuff tastes good :)

O.K. I may have had too much!

I'm soo... tired.

A casualty of the evening.

Bathtime was a must before we could leave the kitchen. He even had icing on his back and up in his nose.

What a great night. A clean baby headed off to bed and Micah and I headed off to pack. We're leaving for a cruise tomorrow and won't be back until next weekend. My parents are watching the boys for us. Thanks so much mom and dad. Bon Voyage!

Happy Birthday Titus!

Today was little Titus's first birthday! I can't believe it's been a year.

This morning, Micah, Luke and I went into Titus's room and sang him Happy Birthday. He had no idea what was happening, but he loved the attention and the singing. He didn't seem to mind the hat too much. What a good sport

He did eventually take it off.

Next, we spent the morning at my ladies bible study. Here is the big one year old walking into the church.

Then, we went to Chic-Fil-A and to the park with Micah for lunch. Here he is hanging out under a tree. It was pretty hot today. Titus loves to swing, and swing, and swing....

Luke is such a great big brother. He was very careful not to shake the bridge too much while Titus was crawling on it. Great job Luke!

Whee Daddy!

Tomorrow, we party!

Laying a finger aside of his nose...

I'm not really sure what to say about this one. Let's see...it's not the first time he's done this...I do watch my children...no, Luke never did this...

Sorry it is blurry. I found out today that he can acutally get down himself.

Titus REALLY wears me out right now. He runs up the stairs, climbs into the fireplace, loves to take things out of my china cabinet. Augh! It's a crazy age. He really too young to remember all the things that are a "No, No".

Super Luke at the Post Office and Grocery Store

Luke love to wear his cape EVERYWHERE we go. Here he is wearing it at the post office and the grocery store. It really works out for me. Luke can only wear his cape when he is actually being SuperLuke. SuperLuke is super because he obeys his mommy! (I'd like to send a shout out to Cara Harper who I took this awesome idea from.)

SuperLuke, can you please help mommy carry the package to the post office?

SuperLuke, can you go get some bananas?
SuperLuke, go get some oatmeal!

Little Titus thinks we're both nuts :)

Micah's 30!

Well, Micah's 30! At We celebrated the day before with family at Babe's for fried chicken. They had him wear the chicken hat while they sang him happy birthday! Mr. Froggy is with us too. He was on loan from Luke's preschool teacher with instructions to take him on all of our adventures. I'm sure Mr. Froggy did not know what to think of all these shenanigans.

On Friday, the boys and I went up to have lunch with Micah. I dressed them both in Spurs jerseys. If that doesn't put a smile on Micah's face, I don't know what will LOL

That night we had cookie cake. "Happy Birthday Dear Micah..."

Micah opens cards and presents. Aunt Cara came over to celebrate. She also let Micah and I go out for the evening. We went to PF Changs (YUM! Lettuce wraps!) and to a bookstore before heading back.

Happy Birthday Micah! You're a great husband and a wonderful dad :) I love you.

Half Staff?

Today, I got a hard question from little Luke on the way to school. I'm positive he did not understand the magnitude of what he had asked, but I teared up at his question and while answering.

Luke- "Mommy, that flag is not all the way to the top."

Me- "You're right Luke. That was done on purpose."

Luke- "Why?"

Silence...

Me- "Because lots of people are sad today."

Luke- "Why?"

Me- "Some people got hurt very badly several years ago. People are sad when they remember, and they don't want to put the flag all the way to the top. We don't raise the flag all the way when we are sad about something."

That seemed to be enough information for him this year. God bless everyone today as we remember 9-11. Everyone remembers in their own way, but this day is a sad one for us all.
